These beach collection bags were completely handmade by a group artisans from the Community of San Jacinto, Chiquimula, in Guatemala. They were made with palm leaves which are dried under the sun before working them. San Jacinto is a small town located in the northeast of Guatemala and it is well known for the processing of this material. According to the tradition of this town, the leaves of the palms are cut only when the moon is in the last quarter phase or “Luna Menguante”. If the palm is cut before or after this phase, the leaves will not be good for its use. Thanks to this material the bags are ecological and eco-sustainable.
